Acne Studios’ Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, starring Rosalía, has got to be one of the buzziest adverts of the season. The Spanish singer appears in a series of images, captured by Paul Kooiker, that “reimagine [her] as a historical muse”, per the official press release. The goal here was to show the label’s experimental nature, which manifests in the clever manipulation and repurposing of fabrics like denim, jersey, and leather. “The fall collection was a collage of different ideas and feelings, so we wanted to explore this clash of historical references but with a cultural icon who feels so effortlessly of the moment,” Acne Studios’ Creative Director Jonny Johansson said in a statement. “We felt Rosalía was the perfect fit because she has a unique ability to shapeshift through time, history, and culture, all with a contemporary lens.”

Stella McCartney set out to explore the life and work of the American artist Frank Stella through her eponymous label’s Winter 2022 campaign. Photographer Theo Wenner shot the artful advert, starring the actor and activist Sadie Sink, at Montauk’s gallery and working horse farm dubbed The Ranch. (Sink shares McCartney’s environmental values and bares a physical resemblance to a younger version of the designer.) For the soundtrack, McCartney chose “Live and Let Die,” a song by her father Paul McCartney that he wrote for the 1973 James Bond film of the same name.

“This story was quintessentially Stella and brought together so many elements and people who I love,” McCartney said in a statement. “It almost felt like a family on the shoot, and that playfulness and energy translates into the iconic visuals Theo captured of Sadie wearing our Frank Stella pieces. She truly feels like the face of the next generation and I could not be prouder to work with her.”

The new range is filled with the style icon’s most beloved basics like loose-neck tees, washable cashmere sweaters, and oversize coats in soft, neutral hues. “We worked at trying to perfect [Jane’s] daily outfits with her and under her guidance,” Touitou said in a statement. “I admit that, on the surface, it doesn't look like anything special, because there’s nothing spectacular about it, except — using Jane’s own words — good basic materials that age well.”

Raf Simons

Raf Simons/Willy Vanderperre

Consider Raf Simons’ Fall/Winter 2022 campaign an overture to the cuffing season — aka that time of the year when weather begins to cool and even the most stubborn of singles start to crave a romantic relationship. Here, Simons’ close collaborator Willy Vanderperre photographed models Greta Hofer and Mahault Cerfontaine in particularly intimate poses, where their bodies are closely entwined with each other. Clothing-wise, take note of knee-high leather boots, patent leather jumpsuits, and exagerrated, face-obscuring headgear — an avant-garde take on the balaclava trend.

Photographed by Sam Rock, the ad is also accompanied by a motivating epigraph, as to empower the viewers to believe in themselves and their dreams: “If you have an idea, / And you really feel in your gut that it’s good, / Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, / If it’s something that means something to you, you must do it!”

Vince Camuto

For Vince Camuto’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, the title says it all: Dubbed “Invincible,” it centers on the concepts of optimism and confidence. The advert displays an array of boots — the label’s signature — that range from grungy combat styles to elegant over-the-knee options. If you have already stocked up on fall-friendly footwear, no worries. Thankfully, the collection also includes a variety of party-ready heels and purses.

Ahead of the official arrival of Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection to its boutiques on Tuesday, Sept. 13, Chanel released its Fall/Winter 2022 campaign. According to a press release, while working on this advert, the fashion photography duo Inez & Vinoodh were guided by the contrast between “Gabrielle Chanel’s trips to the River Tweed area [to find] inspiration for her tweeds in nature, and living her life in Paris dressing women with tremendous freedom of movement and ease.” This duality translated into two photoshoots — one set outdoors and in color, while the other is composed of black and white studio shots — starring the model Rianne Van Rompaey. “We set out to bring the countryside, the Scottish landscape around the River Tweed, into city life,” Inez & Vinoodh explained.

Off-White showcases both womenswear and menswear in its Fall/Winter 2022 campaign. The ad is full of references to the label’s legacy established by the late designer Virgil Abloh — with the biggest one being a particular shade of electric blue, which has become one of the intrinsic house codes of the brand. “Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius,” Off-White’s current Art and Image Director Ib Karmara said in a statement. “[Virgil] revolutionized streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs, and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment.”

The project is titled “Live Your Luxury” and can be best described as a sumptuous sartorial feast for your eyes. “This campaign signals a reimagined perspective of luxury, which, ultimately, means something different and often very personal to the individual,” Neiman Marcus’ Chief Marketing Officer Daz McColl said in a statement. “It is not just about styles or trends, and the unspoken expectations that come with them. It’s about how you wear a piece or a look, when you wear it, why you wear it, and what it means to you.”

For those who delve deeper, make sure to check out the Fall 2022 issue of Neiman Marcus’ The Book — a part catalog, part fashion magazine — for exclusive interviews with the likes of Donatella Versace, Casablanca’s Charaf Tajer, and David Yurman’s Evan Yurman.

For those who watched the label’s Fall/Winter 2022 show, you will immediately spot the much talked-about runway pieces from his debut collection, including the humble yet headline-making white tank. The advert follows the collection’s journey from backstage at San Fedele in Milan to the Horst Festival in Belgium and back to Italy’s southern coast. “There is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion,” Blazy said in a statement. “Bottega Veneta is, in essence, pragmatic because it is a leather goods company — and because it specializes in bags, it is about the movement of going somewhere.”

Balenciaga

Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign continues to explore the themes set forth by the label’s previous runway show: global warming and over consumption. Shot by the Berlin-based photographer Daniel Rocheé, the new images capture iconic Balenciaga muses like Kim Kardashian and Alexa Demie in surreal landscapes that represent different seasons. What’s more, the stars are wearing clothing and accessories from the house’s Fall/Winter 2022 line in contradictory environments (think: layered pieces in the hot sun, or minimal clothing in the frigid cold) — a detail that further amplifies the advert’s surrealistic ambiance.

In addition, this campaign debuts the label’s new Cambell satchel — an ultimate carryall that’s equally suited for work and play.

Gucci

Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign — dubbed “Exquisite” — is an homage to Stanley Kubrick and his prolific talent in filmmaking. The ad draws inspiration from the movies that Kubrick is most known for, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut, and The Shining. One way these inspirations manifest themselves is through recreations of the original costumes from those films, expertly crafted by costume designers Milena Canonero and Charlotte Walter. (Canonero and Kubrick worked together on several films in the past.) Cinematography aside, the new campaign also gives all Gucci fans another glimpse of the house’s collaboration with adidas, which debuted on the label’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway earlier this year.

Proenza Schouler

Bella Hadid and Julia Nobis are the faces of Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2022 ad campaign. For those who tuned into Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway show, you’ll recognize the corseted tops and relaxed suits that Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, the label’s creative directors, sent down the runway in February 2022. Last but not least, the advert introduces the newest addition to Proenza Schouler’s handbag lineup: the Drawstring Tote, which can be styled as a shoulder or crossbody bag.

For Burberry’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, the label’s Creative Director Riccardo Tischi joined forces with photographers Inez & Vinoodh and fashion stylist Lotta Volkova, working to explore and bring his avant-garde approach to fashion design to the foreground. Supermodel Irina Shayk is one of the faces in this campaign, along with members of the Compton Cowboys, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization with a mission to revive Black equestrian culture for a younger generation. The images will give you a glimpse into Burberry’s fall lineup — a diverse mix of vintage-inspired pieces like lacy corset tops and pleated skirts and novel takes on the label’s cult-favorite outerwear.

Missoni

Missoni’s Fall/Winter 2022 ad campaign is a metaphorical dialogue between the past, present, and future expressed through one of the most universal and evocative of languages: color. Here, each shade has its own story — yet they all come together in unison, forming unique patterns on Missoni’s fall offerings. (Take note of the house’s signature zig-zag motif on knitted sweaters, chromatic bathrobes, and sparkling dresses.)

Tamara Mellon

Helena Christensen is the star of Tamara Mellon’s Fall/Winter 2022 ads. The campaign feels like a full-circle moment for the relationship between the supermodel and the label’s Founder and Creative Director Tamara Mellon, who have known each other for decades. (In case you didn’t know, Mellon and Christensen met in the ‘90s, while working on a British Vogue photoshoot in Venice. At the time, the footwear designer was just starting her career in fashion as the magazine’s accessories editor and assistant to the Fashion Director Sarajane Hoare.) “I have always admired Helena’s work and outstanding personal achievements,” Mellon said in a statement. “For me, her elegance and unique sense of style make her the quintessential Tamara Mellon woman, which made her a natural fit for our Fall/Winter 2022 campaign.”

Once again, Celine tapped Kaia Gerber to front its Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, thus cementing her status as Hedi Slimane’s go-to muse. (Celine’s creative director enlisted the model to front the fashion house’s advertorial for the fourth season in a row.) In the campaign, titled “Dans Paris,” Gerber sports a variety of French women-chic looks: Think oversized jeans with a black cashmere turtleneck, or a pair of knee-high boots with a cropped white tank, boxer shorts, and all-black sunnies. Both looks were finished with the newly launched handheld accessories from Celine’s Fall/Winter 2022 line: a white Trapeze Triomphe bag and a black Chain Box Triomphe bag, respectively.

Tory Burch released the first drop of its Fall/Winter 2022 collection alongside a campaign photoshoot, starring Sydney Sweeney. This season, the American fashion label zeroed in on its signature Kira handbag, showcased by the Euphoria actor while on a fictitious cruise around New York City. The new advert includes a total of three iterations of the iconic handbag: a classic shoulder bag, a compact mini bag, and a brand-new square crossbody style, all adorned with beveled Double T hardware. All three styles possess that distinct urban, sophisticated appeal and encapsulate Burch’s core design philosophy: to create beautiful, effortless pieces you can wear often and keep forever.

Lila Moss stars in Balmain’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, alongside other esteemed models like Aweng Chuol and Chu Wong. Lensed by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the ad images are set against a desolate, almost other wordly landscape and include a set of green stairs for a surprise element. The new campaign is accompanied by a hopeful message from the fashion house’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing: “We need not be defenseless in the face of toxic pile-ons, if we can depend on individual honesty, collective empathy, and shared hopes for progress.”

Miu Miu

Miu Miu/Tyrone Lebon

The fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign totally jibes with its title, “Character Study.” The project comprises a series of portraits, captured by the fashion photographer and filmmaker Tyrone Lebon, that feel simple at first glance but reveal their more complex and emotive side upon closer examination. The cast includes “exceptional figures [that are] innately tied to the brand [and] its ideology” — think A-listers like Emily Ratajkowski, Sydney Sweeney, Emma Corrin, and Demi Singleton, alongside professional models like Maty Drazek, Amber Later, and Jade Rabarivelo. Through photographs for this new advert, each of the characters reveal their more introspective sides, as well as attitudes and mindsets.

Ports 1961’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign takes you to the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Fashion photographer maestro Steven Meisel captured a cast of all-star models, including Bella Hadid, Vittoria Ceretti, Sora Choi, Mila Van Eeten, and Achenrin Madit. The resulting series of black and white images spotlight a range of bold, eye-catching pieces from the label’s newest collection — think white, fluffy shearling coats, extra chunky sweaters, frilly leather skirts, and towering platform boots. In sum, the campaign conveys the energy of a free-spirited attitude and individual, cutting-edge style.

Opening Ceremony

Cultural themes of fashion and food go hand in hand in Opening Ceremony’s Fall/Winter 2022 range. The idea was born in 2021, when the label’s Co-Creative Director Humberto Leon and his family opened a Chinese-Peruvian restaurant dubbed Chifa. Located in his hometown of Los Angeles, the eatery offered a diverse menu that represented his family’s multicultural heritage. Inspired by his first six months at Chifa, Leon developed a graphic theme for the collection that centers on the dining experience, as well as other food-adjacent cultural phenomena like dietary restrictions.

The range comprises a medley of cheeky, food-related references and illustrations that are emblazoned on oversized T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. (Think: “No pain” — which can be interpreted as “no bread” or as a punny take on the phrase “no pain, no gain” — and various dietary preferences like “gluten-free,” “no milk,” and “carb-free,” which Leon encountered during his interactions with the customers at Chifa.)

Fendi

Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2022 range was an ode to the late Karl Lagerfeld — particularly his Spring/Summer 1986 and Fall/Winter 2000 collections for the Italian fashion house. In his Fall/Winter 2022 collection, Kim Jones took the geometric pattern from the 1986 range and added a sense of lightness found in pieces from the 2000 season. All in all: the lineup was a true family affair: Accessories were designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, and the jewelry was crafted by her daughter, Delfina Delettrez Fendi. With the superstar model Bella Hadid added into the equation, it’s safe to say that this campaign is a must see.

Prada

For the second season in a row, Prada enlisted Euphoria actor Schafer to star in its womenswear campaign. The label’s Fall/Winter 2022 images center on celebrating an individual’s unique qualities and life experiences. Thus Schafer, as well as a cast of superstar models like Kendall Jenner and Sora Choi, are all pictured with a still-life photograph that reflects their personal experiences and emotions. (Fun fact: All models featured in the campaign also walked the Fall/Winter 2022 runway show for the house back in February 2022.)

PSA: Versace just launched a brand new Greca Goddess bag. The star of the label’s new Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, Lily James, went full goth mode and traded her beach-brunette locks for jet-black, blunt bangs and bleached eyebrows for the project. The actor, who is no stranger to dramatic hair transformations, looked absolutely fierce while donning a corseted black dress with matching black latex gloves — and, of course, the new Greca Goddess bag.

Take a look at Alaïa’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, which is built upon a clever play between the light and the shadows, the bodies and the clothes. In sum, the imagery puts the spotlight on accessories such as Alaïa’s newly-released Le Papa bag, as well as the Le Cœur bags and matching heart-adorned Cœur heels. Comprised of a series of black and white images, the ads feel elegant, free, and assertive.

The color orange is the main theme in Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign. (FYI: The hue has been the primary color of the label’s logo for many years.) In addition to this color theme, the campaign includes sartorial references to football — a sport that influenced adidas’ and Yohji Yamamoto’s vision for the brand for years. The result? An athletic range of multi-functional layering pieces, bags, and footwear.
