4 Style Experts Take On Tory Burch's Recycled Eyewear Collection For Fall

Your go-to sunglasses just got a little bit greener

by Erin Cunningham

Certain sunglass shapes are forever favorites, like aviators, cat-eyes, and even round and oversized. Each one is a veritable style staple, with the ability to withstand trends and maintain their relevance today and for seasons to come. But they aren’t just timeless: They’re versatile. And whether you identify as a color-obsessed maximalist or someone who prefers laid-back athleisure, no outfit is truly complete without a classic pair of sunglasses.

This fall, we’re looking for accessories that aren’t just easy to style, but make an impact on more than the outfit alone. The new Tory Burch recycled eyewear collection, available at Sunglass Hut, features frames made of 100 percent recycled nylon (exclusive of hardware), and a pouch with an exterior of 65 percent recycled cotton and 35 percent polyester, and 100 percent recycled polyester interior, cloth, and drawstring. Basically, your go-to sunglasses just got a little bit greener.

To highlight just how adaptable these Tory Burch frames are, we asked four style experts to show us how the perfect pair of shades can transform an outfit. Whether they’re paired with dystopian-inspired leather dresses or traditional tan trench coats, these vintage-inspired designs look good with everything.

Aysha Sow

“These sunglasses are a statement accessory — they elevate any look,” says Aysha Sow of the shiny black rectangular-frame wayfarers from Tory Burch. “If I’m wearing sweatpants and a tee, I can add a blazer and shades and instantly my outfit goes from regular to comfy-chic!” The on-trend frame, paired with a classic longline trench coat, reflects Sow’s go-to fall style formula: chic basics, oversized shapes, and lots of layering, all in a warm neutral palette.

For Neada Deters, sunglasses have been a constant throughout her life. “I was raised in Sydney, then lived in New York, which has the most incredible sunlight throughout fall. Now I live in Los Angeles, where they’re a necessity whenever you step outside,” she says. “They make a daytime look feel a bit more fun and polished.” With a usual rotation of timeless knits, button-ups, and tailored suiting, these sunglasses fit in seamlessly. “You can never go wrong with black frames and black lenses,” Deters adds. “That combination tends to bring out the best angles of the face and wears well with any outfit.”

Amrit Sidhu

This fall, Sidhu has her eye on just one trend: All leather, all the time. It makes sense, then, that these classic black Tory Burch sunglasses are the ideal complement to her dystopian-inspired look. “My approach to accessorizing is more-is-more,” she says. “I do a lot with my jewelry and bags, so it’s nice to have a staple pair of shades that will work with whatever direction I go in — all-leather included.”

Life in sunny LA means a good pair of shades are a must for Angela Fink. “Accessorizing for me is about not too much and not too little,” like these recycled material wayfarers from Tory Burch. Styled with Fink’s seasonal must-haves — including wide-leg trousers, heeled sandals (this is Cali, after all), and the perfect trench coat — the resulting look is one that stands the test of time.
