Faith's Favorites: 6 Must-Have Fall Beauty Products

A ceramide-rich serum, a cult-fave concealer, and more.

Written by Faith Xue

Welcome to the third installment of Faith’s Favorites, where Bustle’s executive beauty director waxes poetic about the products bringing her joy.

The other day, during my daily mid-afternoon Instagram scroll, I came upon a meme that resonated deep within my soul. It proclaimed, “Legally, girls shouldn’t have to get out of bed if they’re cozy.” I agree with this wholeheartedly. Now that we’re officially in the swing of fall, I only want to be swathed in fuzzy fabrics, nestled into a soft, warm surface (ideally, my bed), with fluffy socks hugging my feet. The Danish have a word for this concept: hygge, which describes the feeling of ultimate contentment one feels when one is cozy. As the temperatures drop outside, I want everything in my life to be hygge — including my beauty products. This month, I’ve been slathering my skin with ceramide-rich serums and hydrating skin tints, fully embodying the cozycore aesthetic. Ahead, find the six products I have on rotation this month.

The Serum

Repeat after me: ceramides are the building blocks of the skin. I’ve been loving this ceramide-infused retinol serum from Kiehl’s, which leaves my skin looking smoother and brighter without any dryness or irritation. The peptides give a skin-plumping effect, so it’s a perfect do-it-all serum that works even if you have sensitive skin.

The Foundation

I pledge my allegiance to this CC cream. Seriously — I use it every single day. It melts into the skin beautifully and blurs out my large pores and discoloration, leaving a pleasantly dewy finish behind. If your skin is looking dry or dull lately, this is basically an instant Paris filter IRL. The SPF 40 doesn’t hurt, either. I’ve recommended this product to at least five people.

The Concealer

I was obsessed with this cult product since high school, and recently rediscovered it now that dark circles and eye bags are a part of my daily existence. One swipe across my under-eyes instantly helps me look well-rested and wide awake — I love that it brightens while adding hydration.

The Eyeshadow & Blush

Stunning packaging aside, this compact has become my go-to product for achieving that flushed, post-sun look. The velvety, buildable formula blends easily into the skin and leaves a powder finish behind — think rose petal-like cheeks and eyes.

The Mascara

Who needs falsies when you have this mascara? The curved plastic bristle grabs every one of my stick-straight, flimsy lashes and gives an instant volume boost while lifting them up and out. I’m never without it.

The Fragrance

If you’ve been looking for a new fall fragrance, you can stop your search now because this is it. Prada’s new Paradoxe perfume is a delight to look at (the bottle is just begging to be ‘grammed), but also smells so incredibly intoxicating — the type of scent that makes people stop you in the street and ask what you’re wearing. There’s cozy notes of amber and musk, but also neroli to keep it fresh. The first time I wore this fragrance, I got so many compliments — and I haven’t stopped wearing it since.
