I Can't Stress Enough How Much I Love This Minimalist, Sustainable Water Pitcher

If you’re anything like me, looks are important — even for your water pitcher.

The LifeStraw Home Glass Pitcher

I never thought I'd say I can't live without a water pitcher, but here we are. I can admit I’ve been a bit of a water snob in the past (still am, TBH), so it was love at first sip when I tried LifeStraw Home — a water filter pitcher that, at the most basic level, provides pretty darn tasty drinking water. You know that “plastic-y” taste in your mouth you get from most bottled waters? With the LifeStraw Home water filter pitcher, you simply don’t get that taste at all.

And if you’re anything like me, looks are important — even for your water pitcher. The LifeStraw Home Glass Water Filter Pitcher fit in perfectly on my dining room table when I had guests over. (I even got a couple of “Where did you get that!?” comments from my friends!) The sleek Danish design is beautifully minimal and made from hand-blown borosilicate glass, making the pitcher not only a sturdy option, but an aesthetically pleasing one that doesn’t scream “office water cooler.”

But there’s more below the surface when it comes to the LifeStraw Home Glass Pitcher — like how it removes 30+ contaminants from my tap water and even helps those without easy access to safe drinking water.

How LifeStraw Home Helps Me Drink Safer Tap Water

TBH, I have many self-care routines that I let fall by the wayside. I don’t always take my makeup off before bed; I stare at screens for the majority of the day; and I often tell myself “just one more episode” at 2 a.m. But one thing I am diligent about is drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

However, when I recently moved across the country to a new city, I was shocked to find that my lifeline to a healthy body and glowing skin (humble brag) tasted… different. Not all water is created equal, I learned. While we all want to think we’re drinking safe water, some tap water can contain differing levels of contaminants which can massively affect both the safety and taste of it. LifeStraw filters out such contaminants, including heavy metals, bacteria and parasites, PFAS, and microplastics.

How LifeStraw Home Gives Back

One benefit of LifeStraw, besides an eye-catching design and lab-tested technology, is how I found myself changing certain habits — like my reliance on unnecessary plastics. I have been guilty of buying single-use water bottles before for the ease and convenience, but felt guilty about the amount of waste I was producing. But since getting LifeStraw Home Glass Pitcher, I’ve been buying far fewer plastic water bottles: With one 7-cup pitcher replacing more than three average sized-bottles of water, I’m motivated to lessen my reliance on and use of bottled water, drastically reducing my single-use plastic habit.

On top of that, I learned that LifeStraw strives to give back to those in need of safe water. I definitely have taken my access to safe water for granted. But hearing that the company works hard to protect children in need of safe water, while also providing me with tasty, filtered water, felt like a win-win. In fact, the company’s Give Back program provides a year of safe water to a child in need for every product purchased; and as of 2021, they have provided a year of safe water for over 6 million children in need.

The Takeaway

Drinking water should be a no-brainer. But, with the risk of contaminants and varying water quality, that isn’t always the case. The good news is though, since upgrading my water pitcher to LifeStraw, I don’t have to pay much mind to the water I’m drinking. I know LifeStraw is doing the work for me by filtering out contaminants, while providing good tasting water that gives back.
